Our tour begins at the Saipan International Airport. The airport was originally constructed by the Japanese in 1934 and named Aslito Field . The field was renamed Isley Field after USN Commander Robert H. Isley who was killed June 13,1944 while strafing Aslito Field. It was renamed Saipan International Airport July 16, 1976.
