I first became interested in computers about 25 years ago when I took a class in COBOL Programming. Although I was interested in computers , I was not able to pursue this interest until 1990.

In 1990 I met Dr. Willard Munger, the two of us fast became friends. Dr. Munger was the Director of the Computer Department, and Dean of Students for the Universite Adventiste d'Afrique Centrale in Mudende, Rwanda. I was working at the Clinique Dentaire Adventiste in Kigali, Rwanda.

It was not long before I was learning C++ and Clipper programming, computer assembly, and hardware and software trouble shooting. As Dr. Munger became busier, he turned over many of the trouble shooting calls to me to solve. At times Dr. Munger and I would work side by side to solve a problem. Of course this was a great learning experience.

In April 1994, war broke out in Rwanda . Four days after the war started, my family and I were able to evacuate the country. Upon arriving back in the States one of the first things that I did was go looking for a new computer. With a new computer in hand I was ready to get on with life. (It was easier said than done.) In August 1994, my family and I arrived on Saipan, where I am presently working for the Saipan SDA Clinic.

In January 1995, I met Bill Bezzant, Saipan DataCom Systems Operator. Bill asked me if I would like to do some research for Saipan DataCom and I gladly accepted. The first project was to find out how to access the Internet by E-mail. After several months of research, I wrote a booklet titled "A Guide To The Internet" which covers this topic.

Then Bill needed someone to write some Web Pages for a demonstration that Saipan DataCom was doing and asked if I would be willing to do it. I gladly accepted the challenge of writing the Web Pages. Since the early part of 1995 I have been planning, designing and writing Web Pages as a hobby.

In 1998 I started working on my MCSE and A+ Certification. I wish I could say that I was finished, but I'm still working on it. I've got to many other projects going I guess.

In 1999 I took a Visual Basic course with my son here at the local College. He blew me away in the class and now anytime I need a program written I just call him and tell him what I want. So he is becoming the computer wiz in the family and I'm dreaming of days gone by :-)
