PL/I and Assembler Language programmer on IBM mainframes under MVS. Applications included Quarterly Profile Examination and Physician Extenders Profile Examination systems.

1977 to 1978 Detroit Edison Corporation
Contract Programmer

CICS Assembler Language programmer on IBM mainframes under MVS. Was the primary on-call technician supporting Edison’s Customer Information Systems daily online system and nightly billing system.

1978 to 1980 McPike Pharmaceutical
Team Leader

CICS Assembler Language and PL/I programmer on IBM mainframes. Directed a team of three programmers on a conversion from DOS/VS to MVS. Applications included Order Entry, Picking, Shipping, Inventory Management, and Financial Systems interfaces.

1980 to 1983 Aubuchon and Associates, Inc.
President

Founded a software and consulting firm specializing in business applications on the IBM Series/1 platform. A wide variety of applications were developed for clients such as H&R Block, Hallmark Cards, Marion Laboratories, St. Lukes Hospital, Farmland Industries, and NYPSA. Company was sold in 1983.

1983 to 1986 Mid-American Control Corporation
Vice President, Systems Software Division

Part owner and senior executive in a software and consulting firm specializing in applications for the IBM Series/1 platform. Headed the division which developed the foundation products on which all the firm’s other products were based. These foundation products included Prompt/DB, a relational data base utilizing balanced-tree and single-level storage concepts, Prompt/DL, a full-featured third-generation language which provided access to all database features of Prompt/DB, and Prompt/PJL, a procedural job control language for applications developed using Prompt/DB and Prompt/DL. Clients included companies such as North American Phillips, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and Fulton County Georgia (Atlanta).

1986 to 1989 Marion Laboratories, Inc.
Project Manager

Managed a team of 25 programmers and analysts during design, development and implementation of the Drug Development Systems application on IBM mainframes. This application was designed to support all activities associated with the latter stages of drug development for the R&D Division of Marion Laboratories.

1989 to 1992 KV Pharmaceutical Company, Inc.
Director, Information Systems/Services

Directed the implementation of IBM AS/400 host computing and the conversion of business applications such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Management, etc. Directed the implementation of the INQAS Laboratory Information Management System, and IBM’s MAPICS on the AS/400. Directed the implementation of a 200+ node wide area Novell network which provided users with access to all host applications, and a variety of end-user applications such as e-mail, spreadsheets, word processing, graphics production, and end-user databases. Directed the implementation of new AT&T PBX switches, and the integration of voice and data lines. Selected Synon/2E as the primary development tool for AS/400 application systems development.

1992 to Present Aubuchon Information Engineering
President

Worked with a variety of clients directly and as a subcontractor in both the application systems development area using Synon/2E, and in the networking area for Novell, Windows/NT, Unix, and IBM AS/400 platforms.

  • Designed and developed all non-financial applications for an apparel manufacturer using Synon/2E.
  • Developed and presented a technical integration strategy for a county government attempting to merge six different data processing organizations on four different platforms.
  • Designed the wiring plants and communications infrastructure for two new county buildings to support the technical integration strategy.
  • Member of a team which designed and developed a large application to support the Marketing Services function of an international travel company.
  • Member of a team which designed and developed a large application to support the handing of Workers Compensation Claims for a midwestern state.
  • Worked with Synon’s Obsydian product since 1996 using versions 2.0, 2.10, 2.14, 2.20, 2.50, 2.51 and 3.0 with the ODBC, 5250, and Client Server generators. Was an active participant with the St. Louis Obsydian Users Group, known as SOUR, since its founding.
Presently engaged as the Project Manager for a team developing a large tax system for a commonwealth island nation in conjunction with the U.S. Department of the Interior. The system includes applications such as Business Licensing, Business Gross Revenue Tax, Monthly and Quarterly Withholdings, Income Tax, and Excise Tax.
