[A day at the beach]

JonAnn Rona Alta & Nicole Greg

Great days often happen when you least expect it.
Travis had been showcasing his new grill in several successful shows at his new Capitol Hill family venue. But we agreed it was time to take the party on the road. So on Saturday June 19th, Rona made the call-time to hit the beach on Sunday. A three family assault was to make the raid on the unsuspecting Pau Pau beach area at 13:30pm. Red Sector A or "Sparky Beach" was to be occupied by the Coffmans. Sector B or "Mac Beach" was to be taken by the McLaughlins. Finally, Sector c, or "Pamper Beach" was assigned to the Engs'.

Despite early resistance from a Japanese film crew, the three groups made their way and established a grillhead. Using his vaunted K-54 Kingston charcoal flamestarter, Travis quickly made the fire and got the chow workin'. Monty quicky surveyed the water for any further resistance from pesky tourists. Greg secured the area and set up base camp. Rona and Alta brought in the support gear, and kept the baby calm-until she hit the water.

Dinah Coffman and the 2nd & 3rd family wave arrived shorty to support the grillhead and to consume the food and drinks. Other than a few frisbee injuries no serious casulaties were reported. The party lasted well into the afternoon and early evening. The McLaughlins and Engs' moved back inland, while the Coffmans finished off the rest of the perishables. Overall we think it was a success and it will be a day long remembered. My thanks to all for a great time!
